The scheme, clad in stone and render, exhibits a tactile quality. The visual mass of the rubble stone walling is contrasted by the textured render which in turn is broken by vertical elements of lightweight glazing on the buildings corners. This helps to bring a scale to the elevations. Variations in relief, shadow and texture, in addition to domestic scale features such as windows and doors achieves a contemporary aesthetic which aims to enhance its surrounding context.
